Hatagane Solid Brass Clamps
Metal clamps arrived to Japan sometime in the early 20th Century, probably from the West. Clamps were adapted in Japan for holding small, fine work and are generally used to hold two pieces of a project together during marking and cutting. We have also found them to be ideal during the glue-up of small boxes and frames.
These Japanese Hatagane clamps are made from solid Brass.
The photo featuring two clamps is an example of how they can be used. The bar of the clamp is pressed against the material, then the opposing clamps are fastened along this bar which holds the job square and straight.
These clamps are perfect for box making and clamping any small and fine material.
